Superior and inferior vena cavea collect deoxygenated blood
Heart wall has three layers: epicardium, myocardium, endocardium
Pericardium has a double membrane and lubricates against other structures
Pericardium attaches to the mediastinum
Septum separates the ventricles
Pericardium separates the heart wall
Sinoatrial node is found in the right atrium
Atria are at the top of the heart
Endocardium is the inner layer of the heart
Myocardium is the middle layer and muscle portion of the heart
Left side of heart is larger
Bicuspid or mitral valve is on the left side
Tricuspid valve is on the right side Try to be right
Left ventricle is thicker than the right because it needs to pump blood to all body parts
Valves prevent back flow
Tricuspid valve closes when the right ventricle contracts
The mitral valve closes when the left ventricle contracts
